Get your Black Friday offer in front of thousands of people!

If you’re anything like me, you’re not ready to start hearing about Black Friday and holiday sales.
And don’t worry, this isn’t a pitch for a Black Friday sale.
Buuut, if you have a Squarespace website and a holiday offer, Becca Harpain from Inside the Square is putting together a free Squarespace Holiday Sale Roundup, and you should be on it.
Details:
Your site must be on Squarespace
It’s free to participate (seriously, totally free)
You can submit up to 3 offers (products, services, digital content, etc.)
Submit by October 30th
The final list will be shared with thousands of people this November
If you don’t know her, Becca is a Squarespace pro, with short, 5-minute tutorials that make Squarespace easy and accessible. If you’ve ever searched “how to _____ in Squarespace” you’ve probably seen her.
Don't miss out! Fill out this form today to submit your holiday offers and reach thousands of potential customers
Quick Tip:
Let’s talk about common website things that aren’t accessible.
Carousels aren’t always accessible. Especially auto-playing ones.
(I’m talking specifically about carousels with text. Image slideshows are fine, as long as you have alt text on the images.)
They’re not accessible because the controls typically aren’t keyboard navigable, important information is hidden on the page, and the autoplay carousels sometimes move too quickly for people to read.
Sometimes there isn’t enough contrast between the text and the background image so it’s not easily readable.
But people loooove carousels!
So, what should you do?
Test the carousel on your site by pressing Tab to see if you can navigate using your keyboard.
If it autoplays, ensure there’s a way for users to pause the carousel. The content should move slowly enough that all of the content can be read and understood. (Or just don’t have it autoplay.)
Run a Lighthouse report in Chrome DevTools to check for accessibility issues.
