What the sock bucket

Where you put things matters more than you think

I hate socks.

They’re annoying, never fit right, and I avoid them whenever I can.

Most of the year, I don't even think about socks until winter hits and I’m getting ready to leave the house

(Why winter? It’s the only time I wear shoes that actually require socks.)

So it never fails: I grab my shoes... and realize I don’t have socks.

Cue me running around the house, annoyed, because they’re not where I need them.

I need a sock bucket by the front door. It’s the only time I’m thinking about socks and they should be right where I can grab them.

(There’s no room for one in this house, but you better believe there will be in the next.)

It’s the same thing with your website.

If you want people to take action - whether it’s booking a call, buying something, or even just reading the next page - you have to put the right information exactly where they’re thinking about it.

Not three pages away.

Not buried in a footer.

Not hidden under three drop-downs.

The easier and more obvious you make it, the more likely people are to actually do it.

No sock bucket? No socks.

No clear CTA? No conversion.

Quick Tip:

Walk through your website like a first-time visitor. At every scroll, ask yourself: What would I want to do next? If there’s no clear path, add one.

Having buttons where people naturally pause is the most effective, because you’re not interrupting their journey or flow to tell them what you want them to do. You’re giving time to build trust so they want to take the next step.
