Why Gatekeeping Websites Is the Worst
It’s your website. You deserve full access—and here’s why.

You know what really burns my toast?
When designers gatekeep websites.
I talk with a lot of people about websites, and it surprises me how often I hear “I don’t have access to my site” or “I can’t make updates.”
That’s like hiring a contractor to remodel your house but never getting the keys back.
Your website is yours—regardless of who designed or built it. Some designers might disagree, but if you’ve paid for my services, you own the design.
I get it: there’s a tech learning curve. But a good designer should help you through that if you want to make updates yourself. Most of my clients like being able to handle small tweaks—adding a blog post, updating a pop-up, or changing some text. That’s why I record personalized videos for every client, empowering them to make updates confidently.
Your website will evolve as your business grows, and you deserve to make changes without waiting weeks to get on someone’s calendar.
This is one of the reasons I love Squarespace—it’s an all-in-one platform that doesn’t require plugins or constant maintenance. While I could make recurring revenue by charging monthly fees, I’d rather save my clients money by ensuring they’re not paying for things they don’t actually need.
Of course, I’m always here to help if bigger updates are needed or to help brainstorm new ideas.
But your website should work for you, not the other way around.
Accidental Promo Month:
Y'all, I planned this website audit promo completely oblivious to the fact that we’re entering the Black Friday promo vortex.
Oops.
But this isn’t about shiny discounts—it’s about helping your website work harder for you. For $50, I’ll help find common issues like unclear messaging, confusing navigation, or missing social proof. (No countdown clocks here—just a friendly heads-up that it’ll be $150 next month.)
Let’s make your website shine!
