Why most website edits don’t work
Clarity comes before design and it changes everything.
I thought I was going to fall.
Which is objectively hilarious, because I had already jumped out of a plane.
I was 11,000 feet up, mid-skydive, the wind rushing past me, and the goal for this jump was to do a barrel roll.
But my brain said “Nope. I can’t do a barrel roll. I’ll fall.”
Then I realized... I was already falling.
I laughed, dropped my shoulder, and did a barrel roll. 10/10. Nailed it.
It’s wild how easily we get caught in loops that don’t make sense, especially when we’re in motion.
I see it all the time with websites.
People keep tweaking colors, rewriting headlines, or adding new offers because they think that’s the thing that’ll fix it.
But they haven’t stopped to ask:
What am I really trying to say?
Who am I trying to help?
And what do I want to happen when someone lands on my site?
Your website isn’t just a digital business card.
It’s your chance to connect, communicate, and guide someone through your work with intention.
But you can’t do that on autopilot.
You need clarity before the design ever starts.

People scan websites - they don’t read every word. Break up your content with clear headlines, short blurbs, and calls-to-action. The goal is to guide, not overwhelm.
