“x dollars for WHAT”
I'm happy to buy good beer and delicious dinners. I like the experience.
My mom likes to buy plants and gardening things.
My dad likes to buy car things.
I don't have a shop to work on cars, or space for a garden, so my eyes tend to bug out when I see how much those hobbies cost. My parents both look at me like I’ve lost my mind when I suggest a restaurant.
We all spend money based on our values.
Every business has values - they’re the foundation of how you make decisions. When you’re not sure what to do, you can always gut-check your options against your values.
Our clients and buyers also have values - how they walk through the world, who they work with, who they vibe with.
When our clients are looking for us, they’re looking for a value match.
You don’t want to work with clients who have a values mismatch, because there’s usually a lot of friction and second-guessing every step of the way. When someone fully ‘gets’ it, the process runs so much smoother.
Same thing from your clients’ perspective - they don't want to feel like their questions are a nuisance.
Easiest way to avoid that situation?
SHOUT those values in all of your marketing.
Put it on your About page.
Allude to it on your Services page.
Post about it on social.
Gab about it when you’re networking. (Don’t literally say: my values are… but when you’re living your values, they come through loud and clear.)
Your values will bring your clients to you, and it will turn people away. It’s hard to turn away people, especially when you’re in a growth stage of your business, but leaning into your values to say who you’re not for will make running your business so much easier.
If your website isn't reflecting your values yet, I’m booking projects for Q3 - book a discovery call and let's talk about building you something that does.
